Famara Protected Landscape is located on the northwestern coast of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands, Spain. This protected area encompasses approximately 8,600 hectares and is dominated by the imposing Famara cliffs, which rise sharply above the Atlantic Ocean up to 671 meters high. The landscape features a combination of coastal beaches, rugged volcanic terrain, and fertile plains, creating diverse habitats that support a variety of endemic species. The region's microclimate and volcanic soil nurture unique vegetation, including native shrubs and wildflowers. Historically, Famara has been a refuge for traditional fishing villages and agriculture, with cultural practices still evident in the local settlements.
